Awakenings Available
Jupiter Star has waited a long time for her “Awakenings.” Ever since I was five years old I have wanted to be a singer-songwriter, and nothing in my life has ever tempted me to stray from that ambition. In 2001 when I created the concept of Jupiter Star, I wasn’t sure what direction I wanted to take the first album in, but then in 2006 halfway through my college education, it hit me; Jupiter Star didn’t have a direction yet because she wasn’t aware. She was a blank slate, and what better way to grow and create than from observing? “Awakenings” is an album about personal experiences as seen from an outsider’s perspective, and is literally Jupiter Star’s awakening. Creating this album helped me to get a better grip on where I wanted to go, what sound I wanted, and how I hoped people would react to these songs. It’s been twelve years in the making, six years just spent trying to record this album, and at long last it is finally done. And I couldn’t be happier.
